For making the holiday season a little brighter

On November 22, students in Fanshawe's Recreation & Leisure Services programs launched the first annual Light Up McCormick! holiday campaign with a tree-lighting event.

More than 150 guests enjoyed all the festivities - from hot chocolate, songs, and sweets to special appearances from the running Santa's and the Riverbend Holiday running group.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, more than $25,900 has been raised - lighting twenty-two trees on the McCormick property as you enter the parking lot.

Your donation will be used to support McCormick's highest-priority needs including additional programs and services that enhance care and enrich lives.

...hugely impactful to me.

It started with tremors and losing the ability to taste. Once Bernie was diagnosed, Beverley said "making plans was hard because they could change in an instant."

You think you should be doing it all when you go through the process. At McCormick Dementia Services, they gave me a talking-to.

They told me that I needed more help, not just Bernie this was hugely impactful to me.

"McCormick Dementia Services was a place where Bernie was safe. I knew he was well taken care of and I trusted the people that worked there."

Thankfully, McCormick Dementia Services showed me how to live and still be there for Bernie. "We are so very grateful for the amazing staff and programs at McCormick."

This holiday season you can make an impact and bring purpose and meaning to someone's life by supporting Light Up McCormick!

A Message from Judy

...a real life saver

Together for 59 years, leading vibrant and fulfilling lives. No one presumes having a blessed life, that an unforgiving disease like Alzheimer's could bring such heartbreaking change.

When Willie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2013, Judy's first thought was "how am I going to cope and help my husband?"

Willie began attending McCormick's Day Program allowing Judy to find time to care for herself and attend the education and caregiver support programs. This gave Judy the knowledge and confidence she needed to care for Willie at home, for as long as possible.

"McCormick has been a real life saver! Knowing I wasn't alone and Willie was well taken care of, helped me keep my sanity."

Judy will be forever grateful to McCormick for the exceptional care and support they received. This holiday season you can be a life saver and bring purpose and meaning to someone's life by supporting Light Up McCormick!
